Baltic Futsal League’s press release № 2
The BFL will enter the 2020/21 season with updated regulations.
The first meeting of the League Board took place in the Tallinn Radisson Olympia on the 1st of March. It considered the items of the Regulation relating to interaction with national associations and also the setting data for further discussion of the BFL calendar for 2020/21 season was identified. The main questions concerning the interaction with national associations have been determined in the question list.
The participation in BFL is possible only in case of strict compliance of the national and international calendar of competitions by clubs. Adoption of the principle of filming home matches will allow to unify standards for filming and showing futsal in all competitions, including national championships. The exchange of experience between the BFL and associations when it comes to marketing and communication policy will be aimed at further popularization of Futsal in the spirit of cooperation the BFL with Spanish National Futsal League ( LNFS).
At present the BFL considers as League participants the representatives from nine countries. Estimated number of clubs in the season of 2020/21 is 12, number of rounds is 22 and games – 132. According to the project calendar of the season the start of the BFL tournament is scheduled for the first weekend of October 2020, its finish – for the third weekend of April 2021. While planning the calendar of the season 2020/21 the League will take into consideration the schedule of national championships as well as the international calendar including UEFA Champions League rounds and breaks for national team games. The League intends to agree with national associations the dates of friendly match or tournament in which the team of BFL clubs or teams of national championship clubs will take part.
